Understanding the EU CSRD: What It Is and How the EU Omnibus Bill Might Impact It

Mar 21, 2025

With large EU Public Interest Entities (PIEs) starting to publish their CSRD sustainability reports in 2025, just how CSRD impacts sustainability strategy and annual reporting is becoming clearer. While proposed legislative updates could mean that companies with less than 1000 employees and SMEs  may not need to publish CSRD-compliant reports, the lessons learned in 2024 from deeper corporate due diligence — including increased stakeholder engagement, double materiality assessments, gap analyses, and validation and verification of data — can provide a backdrop for success for other entities that will eventually need to comply with the regulation.

In this webinar, SCS Consulting Services’ CSRD Program Manager, Marie Blazy and Managing Director, ESG Consulting, Bonnie Holman focus on:

  • What is CSRD: scope and main concepts
  • Omnibus bill proposed changes to bring alignment between CSRD, CSDDD and the EU Taxonomy
  • Omnibus bill timeline: What it takes to get from proposal to final legislation
  • How the Omnibus could impact companies based outside of Europe and when and how they should report.
  • Practical steps to move forward with your CSRD reporting
