A-PLUS paints, a trusted paint brand, is certified for lead safety

After meticulous third-party verification, FH Colors & Coatings Corp.'s A-Plus and three other paint products have been certified "Lead Safe," confirming that they meet the most stringent regulatory standards for lead content in paints.

Rob Emelander, Project Manager at SCS Global Services, said: "SCS Global Services is pleased to announce that A-Plus, Glazer, Hanscoat and Kali coatings have successfully passed the Lead Safety Coatings ® (LSP®) validation program. Consumers can be confident that these paints comply with the Philippine ban on lead additives in paints and do not pose a risk of lead exposure to children, workers, and women. ”。“ We thank FH Colors &Coatings Corp. for their trust and for the steady and reliable support of the Eco-Waste Coalition and the International Pollutant Elimination Network (IPEN). ”

"In line with our company's vision of being the paint of choice for every Filipino home, A-Plus Paints delivers world-class quality products that stem from our sincere passion and pursuit of excellence," said Ino Marquinez, vice president of corporate affairs at FH Colors & Coatings Corp. We are proud of this tremendous achievement, and we are dedicating it to Filipino consumers who deserve high-quality, lead-safe paints at an affordable price." Our company is committed to continuous product innovation to meet quality and safety standards and meet the needs and expectations of our customers as we paint the Filipino dream.

Jeiel Guarino, IPEN's global lead paint elimination campaigner, said: "Exposure to lead can cause irreversible neurological damage in young children, negatively impacting their brain development that will continue throughout their lives. With this in mind, FH Colors & Coatings Corp. has decided to eliminate the use of lead in paint production, which will help provide a healthy and safe living and learning environment for children. ”。

Manny Calonzo, an activist at the Environmental Waste Alliance, said: "The presence of lead-based paint products with 'lead-free' or 'lead-free' claims on the market makes it all the more necessary for trusted third-party LSP® certification. ”。“ LSPs® on cans provide safety and peace of mind to paint consumers. ”

The LSP® certification program independently verifies and confirms that products do not exceed 90 parts per million (ppm) of lead, do not exceed the legal limits for lead and its compounds under the United States National Drug Administration Act 2013-24 or the Chemical Control Order (CCO), and do not exceed the recommended limits in the United Nations Model Law and Guidelines for the Regulation of Lead Coatings.

Officially certified products have the right to have the LSP® logo on the paint can, providing consumers with a useful visual guide to which products on the shelf meet the 90 ppm regulatory standard.

Launched in 2015, the program was developed by IPEN with the participation of stakeholders such as the Philippine Paint Manufacturers Association (now known as PPCAI) and the Eco-Waste Alliance.

The ceremony was attended by Mharicel Cipcon, Head of Lead and Technical Manager for A-Plus Paint Lead Safety Program, Engineer Gemmar June Gibe, Vice President of Business Development, Pepito Lim Vismin, Vice President of Operations, Angela Patrice Gloria, Marketing Manager and Ino Marquinez, Vice President of Corporate Affairs.
